    Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau Holds Monthly Thanksgiving Service

    The Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau held its monthly Thanksgiving service for the month of February, earlier today at the Conference Hall of the Bureau, bringing together staff and well-wishers for a time of gratitude and reflection. A special highlight of the event was the celebration of staff members born in the month of February.

    The service featured an inspiring message delivered by Pastor Richard Afenfia on the theme “Accusation.” Drawing from Luke 11:53-54, John 14:30, and Matthew 7:3-4, he emphasized the importance of self-examination, reminding attendees that the devil is the accuser of the brethren and urging them to correct themselves before correcting others.

    Pastor Afenfia led prayers for the celebrants, after which a symbolic toast was made, signifying grace. The occasion was further marked by the cutting of a celebratory cake. In recognition of the moment, the Director General presented gifts to the celebrants, Directors, Heads of Departments, and other staff members, alongside well-wishers who joined the event.

    The Thanksgiving service remains a cherished tradition within the Bureau, fostering a culture of gratitude, unity, and spiritual growth among its members.

    His Excellency, Sen. Douye Diri, Reappoints Aaron Nicodemus Timiye as Director General, Due Process Bureau for a Second Term

    The Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau is pleased to announce the reappointment of Mr. Aaron Nicodemus Timiye as Director General for a second term, following a unanimous decision by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly earlier today, 28th January 2025, in Yenagoa.

    During the confirmation session, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sunday Benard Kenibai, highlighted Mr. Timiye’s impressive professional record. He noted that Mr. Timiye served as a Legislative Officer, Deputy Clerk for six years, and Clerk for nine years, accumulating vast experience in legislative processes, administration, and procurement best practices. Hon. Kenibai commended Mr. Timiye’s expertise and moved a motion for the nominee to take a bow, which was seconded by Hon. Wisdom Fafi, representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency 2.

    Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, praised Mr. Timiye’s performance during his first term and expressed confidence in his ability to continue delivering exceptional leadership. Before Mr. Timiye took his ceremonial bow, the Speaker encouraged him to build on his achievements and maintain the high standards he has set for the Bureau.

    Moreso, the management and staff of the Due Process Bureau expressed their gratitude and excitement at Mr. Timiye’s reappointment adding that this milestone is as a testament to the trust and confidence placed in his leadership and vision.

    “This reappointment marks a new chapter of progress and success for the Bureau. Under Mr. Timiye’s guidance, we look forward to further advancements in upholding due process and procurement best practices in Bayelsa State,” said a representative of the Bureau’s staff.

    The Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau held its first Thanksgiving service today. The staff of the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau who were born in January were celebrated during the event. The Thanksgiving service message was moderated by Pastor Richard Afenfia, with the topic “Apply Our Hearts to Wisdom,” based on the texts from Jeremiah 1:5 and Psalm 90:12, which teach us to live wisely and well in the ways of God. The celebrants were prayed for by Pastor Richard Afenfia, and Barr. (Mrs.) Ebinimi Brutolu, Head of Legal Services made a toast, symbolizing grace, while the cake was cut by the celebrant. The Director General presented gifts to the celebrant, Directors present, Heads of Departments, staff of the Bureau and well-wishers who joined in the celebration.

    Due Process Bureau holds its first management meeting today, 07/01/2025. This is to kick start the activities for the year 2025. The meeting was focus on outlining goals, strategies, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for various Staff Performance, Training & Capacity Building, Budgetary allocation and resource management to ensure effective implementation. Additionally, the team members are expected to do more in the area that are not well handled and heads of department are requested to monitor and appraise their performance for appraisal for enhancing efficiency and accountability within the bureau. This will establish clear objective for the year 2025.
