    Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau Staff Inducted by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria, (CIPSMN).

    Staff of the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau took center stage during this year’s 2024 Batch B Mandatory Professional Development Programme, (MPDP), this event has added more value to the staff of the bureau, which is mandatory for every staff of the Bureau and staff from procuring MDAs.

    This programme when attended will prepare and position the staff against unethical practices which will also serve as guide to professional conduct.

    The Programme was organized by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria.

    This year Theme is: Efficient Resources Management (ERM) In Nigeria: The Strategic Role of Sustainable Procurement, Contract Monitoring and Procurement Audit, which took place on the 25th – 27th September, 2024, at the Cyprian Ekwensi Center for Arts & Culture, Opposite Force CID Head Quarters, Area 10, Garki-Abuja. 10.00 am daily.

    The event was well attended by professionals across the country that had duly completed the required academic

    criteria that will enable graduates to participate during the Mandatory Professional Development Programme (MPDP), and to be inducted.

    Other key events that took place were paper presentation which include;

    The Significance of Artificial Intelligence Towards the Future of Supply Chain Management Function.

    The event came to a close with an induction of professional with the charge to perform their duties according to the code of ethics and professional conduct.

    However, the follow inductees; Chief Josiah Howells Onyesi, Mr. Fieye Ronald Sam-Ateki, Mr. Tari Michael Ofongo, Engr. Denyefa George Aaron and Bingila Julious Ganga are grateful to Hon. Timiye Nicodemus Aaron, Director General, of the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau for the funding of the training and the entire management of the Bureau for the support and prayers.

    Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau holds its Monthly Thanksgiving Service – 26th August 2024.

    The Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau held the regular end of Month Thanksgiving Service on Monday, August 26th 2024, presided over by Pastor Sambo Sataria The main topic was ‘God Will Give You A New Beginning’ the main text was drawn from (1st Chronicles 4:9-10).
    The event, which took place in the Bureau’s Conference Hall in Yenagoa, brought together the management and staff for a moment of gratitude and reflection.
    The Director General of the Bureau, Hon. Aaron Nicodemus Timiye, led the event, and was joined by other Directors, Heads of Departments, staff and other well-meaning guests. The May born were also celebrated during the Thanksgiving Service was a significant occasion for the Bureau, symbolizing unity, commitment, and a collective dedication.
    In his remarks, the Director General, Hon. Aaron N. Timiye expressed profound gratitude to their responsibility. The Bureau remains steadfast in its mission to promote transparency, accountability and efficiency in public procurement processes.

    The 2024 Rivers State Conference of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) took place between July 30th and 31st at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Port Harcourt. This event, targeting Chartered Procurers and Purchasing Professionals, focused on the theme “Sustainable Procurement and Supply Chain Management Practices – A Game Changer for National Development.”

    The conference was mainly for Members of the CIPSMN who are known by the CIPSMN Establishment Act of 2007 in sections 1(1)(c), 5(11) and 20 as Chartered Procurers/Professional Procurers/Purchasing and Supply Professionals respectively.

    The purpose of the conference was to expose and build capacity and skills of Chartered Procurers/Professional Procurers/Purchasing and Supply Professionals with the emerging and contemporary global issue of Sustainable Procurement and how to practically integrate sustainability factors into procurement for business and National Development.

    Key presentations included:

    • Professor N. Gladson Nwokah from Rivers State University spoke on the “Introduction to Supply Chain Management and National Development,” highlighting the role of efficient Supply Chain Management (SCM) in ensuring economic stability, growth, and national prosperity.
    • Dr. Abdul A. Mamman presented “Sustainable Procurement and National Development,” discussing the importance of sustainable procurement in achieving value for money, benefiting society and the economy, and minimizing environmental harm. He emphasized resource efficiency, waste reduction, and ethical practices.
    • Dr. Biebele E. Arimie shared insights on “Integrating Sustainability in Procurement” using the SEEG approach (Social, Environmental, Economic, and Governance considerations). He also covered “Green Logistics Management,” focusing on optimizing transportation, reducing packaging waste, and minimizing the environmental impact of logistics activities to support climate action and sustainable development.
    • Dr. Cyprian N. Ojum discussed “Sustainable Artificial Intelligence,” emphasizing the development of energy-efficient, transparent, and ethically designed AI systems. He highlighted AI’s potential to enhance organizational competitiveness and drive national development.

    The conference brought together experts, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss the integration of sustainable procurement and supply chain management into national development agendas. The event provided valuable insights and practical solutions for sustainable national development.

    Representing the Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau were Mr. James Peter Timiye (Head of Accounts), Mr. Onyesi Josiah Howells (Head of ICT), Engr. Aaron Denyefa George (Assistant to the Director General), Mr. Fieye Sam Ateki, and other staff members.

    The event, which took place in the Bureau’s Conference Hall in Yenagoa, bringing together the management and staff for a moment of gratitude and reflection.

    Bayelsa State Due Process Bureau Held its Mid-year Thanksgiving Service, 24th June 2024

    The Due Process Bureau held its mid-year Thanksgiving service on Monday, 24th June 2024. It was presided by Pst. Maxson Agagaowei of the Royal House of Grace, Yenagoa, to thank God for the wonderful things He has done for us and our loved ones, ranging from provisions, safety guidance and protection of lives and properties as a Bureau.

    The topic was “The Importance of Thanksgiving” and the main text was taking from the book of Jeremiah chapter 30 verse 19-21. The message laid emphasis on the need for regular Thanksgiving and the benefits attached to it.

    The Thanksgiving service was organized by the Bureau, which took place in the Bureau Conference Hall in Yenagoa, bringing together the management, staff and other guest for a moment of gratitude to God for things He has done and for those hope for.

    The Director General, Hon. Aaron Nicodemus Timiye, led the event, and was joined by Directors, Heads of Departments, staff and others well-meaning guest.
